Interest group participants are required to be club members. If applicable, Interest Group fees are payable to the group chairperson at the first meeting. Explore the World of Wine: Sample wines from around the world among friends, with the guidance of a sommelier. It is necessary to sign up each year; openings are limited. Meets: 4th Sunday, 7 p.m., 6 meetings/year in members’ homes, beginning September 27. Fee: $10–15/person/session. Cost is divided among members, so regular attendance is important. Needlecraft with Conversation: We enjoy learning about each other’s needlework. Meets: 2nd Thursday, 9:30 a.m., beginning October 8. Roll Out the Barrel: Microbrews and Other Beers: Local brews? Yes! Explore the world of microbrews and other beers in this interest group. Meeting dates/sites TBD. Cost is divided among members; regular attendance is important. Creative Journaling: Begin that journal you’ve been thinking about — your life story, family history or memoir. Members are encouraged to bring work to share. Visitors are welcome. Meets: 3rd Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., beginning October 20. Fee: Provide an occasional snack. Family Day Out: Explore Manhattan family style! Join us for short, family/kid-friendly excursions in and around Manhattan (early evening or Saturday) Gourmet/International: Food! Fun! Fellowship! Singles and couples, novices and experts: all are welcome. Hosting, menu planning, cooking, and expenses are shared. Meets: Monthly at members’ homes, on the 1st / 2nd Saturday at 6:30 p.m., October through April. Cooking assignments given about a week in advance. Fee: Expenses will be shared. Bridge: Afternoon and Evening (for couples and singles with partners) groups available. Meets at the American Legion, 114 McCall Road. No fee. Fitness with Enell: Gentle exercises that work all parts of the body. Meets: 8:30 a.m. M/W/F, beginning Sept. 9, Riley County Senior Service Center. Fee: $42 per person for 30 classes, $36 for 20 classes, or $2 per class. Creative Cookery: Bring a dish and share the recipe with friends, new and old. Meets: 2nd Tuesday, 11:30 a.m., beginning in October. New members are welcome!
