In the future, study items closely related to those covered by existing SGs will be assigned to the existing Questions under the respective SGs. Geneva, 13–16 July, 2009 Fostering worldwide interoperability 2 Establishment of WP3 in ITU-T SG5 relating to ICT&CC SG5 of ITU-T, in May 2009, approved the Questions of Working Party 3 as follows: (1) Q17/5: Coordination and planning of ICT&CCrelated standardization; (2) Q18/5: Methodology of environmental impact assessment of ICT; (3) Q19/5: Power feeding systems; (4) Q20/5: Data collection for energy efficiency of ICTs over their lifecycles; (5) Q21/5: Environmental protection and recycling of ICT equipment/facilities. Geneva, 13–16 July, 2009 Fostering worldwide interoperability 3 Strategic Collaborative Direction in GSC (proposed) Encourage PSOs to contribute to ITU-T initiatives on ICT and climate change to standardize energy-saving ICT systems and methodologies for analyzing, evaluating, and quantifying GHG reductions that may be achieved through ICT use to actively participate in standardization work in WP3/SG5 to produce recommendations on ICTs and climate change Geneva, 13–16 July, 2009 Fostering worldwide interoperability 4 Next Steps/Actions of TTC in Support of ITU-T Initiatives At a new WP3/SG5 meeting of ITU-T, TTC will actively contribute to discussions on standardizing a methodology for evaluating the energy-saving impact of ICT services in collaboration with other PSOs. Future TTC Contribution Propose a methodology and power feeding, etc. Support management and operation of WP3/SG5. Liaise with other related organizations.
