Taught MA English and the Media Launched in 2012, the evening MA in English and the Media is an exciting and vibrant interdisciplinary programme offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences. It brings together aspects of Applied English Language Studies, Media Studies, Cultural Criticism and the study of digital cultures. Through study-units that look at areas ranging across Writing for the Media, print publishing, TV and Film, Digital Games, remediation, etc, the programme offers interdisciplinary perspectives that maintain a sensitive balance between theory and practice. It is sensitive to issues relating to English and media cultures today, and affords a range of skills and abilities prized in the quickly evolving workplaces that characterise the employment landscape in the associated fields.
