Jacob Munodawafa is currently the Executive Secretary /chief Executive Officer of Southern Africa Telecommunications Association (SATA) which brings together operators, service providers and ICT players in Southern Africa. SATA is an Institution of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) being a regional community for Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Jacob as an Engineer by profession has more than 21 years experience in telecommunications and Information Communication Technology (ICT). He is a holder of Bachelor of Science Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Science in the same field specialising in Digital Mobile Communications from the University of South Australia , a Master in Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe majoring in financial management and a Further Education Teachers Diploma (FETD) from Harare Polytechnic majoring in training methodologies and delivery. Prior to joining SATA in 2006 Jacob worked for Tel●One, Zimbabwe from 1991 until 2006 where he rose from being an Engineer to Senior Executive as the Head of Information Technology (IT) reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director responsible for the company wide IT function. From 2001 until 2006, he was also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe for the Master of Science (MSc) program in Telecommunications.
