Abstract:
We try to identify the key factors which help the digital switchover in different countries. The
frequency spectrum is determined by RRC’06, and WRC’07, which gives the opportunity to
launch new digital broadcasting services.
The government plays a key and active role in this process due to the fact the state is
responsible for frequency planning. We would like to show how the digital switchover
strategy was prepared, which aspects are important in a country which is member of the
European Union.
The example shown focuses on a wider aspect of digital broadcasting not only on the
terrestrial one.
