Title: Service perspectives on systems beyond IMT-2000

Abstract:
The objective of this presentation is to show our perspectives of future mobile services
and our experience of IMT-2000 services. In the first half of the presentation, current
IMT-2000 service trends are explained based on the market trends and statistical data. It
concludes that the provision of valuable application to subscribers is a key to success
both in 2G and IMT-2000 services. In the latter half of it, possible services for systems
beyond IMT-2000 are forecasted using the video presentation. The presentation
addresses that the key words of the systems beyond IMT-2000 services are
“multimedia” and “ubiquitous”. It also mentioned that Person to Person multimedia
access will further contribute to the increased traffic in the future mobile
communications. Therefore, transmission capabilities of 100 Mbps – 1 Gbps will be
required in order to support future mobile applications.
