RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the proposed name change has the approval of the faculty of the
Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering; and
WHEREAS, the Board is satisfied that the proposed name change better reflects the
academic programs and research which are focused on manufacturing systems
rather than manufacturing processes; and
WHEREAS, the proposed name change has been approved by the Committee on
Academic Affairs, the Faculty as a whole, and the university’s administration;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approves the
name change from the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering to
the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering.
