Mandy Gill CSUF 2002 My name is Mandy Gill; I was born in Punjab, India. I am the youngest of two children born to Chamkaur and Surinder. I am the first nurse in my family. I graduated from CSUF with a BSN in 2002. I married Charan Gill in November of 2007. I am currently working at Selma Community Hospital in the Med/Surg unit. I got the inspiration to become a nurse from my mother. She had always wanted to become a nurse, but growing up a girl in India, she was not allowed to go to college. She encouraged me to go to into this field. She supported me all the way throughout my schooling. By becoming a nurse, I have made my dream as well as my mother's come true. I had great experiences as a student at CSUF. The most memorable experience I can remember is the first day of clinical in first semester. My instructor was Jan. I went into the first patient's room and discovered that the lady was incontinent and had a bowel movement. Jan was there with me. She saw the look on my face and walked me through the process of how to handle this situation. I was about to walk out of the room, but she made me feel so comfortable and helped me feel better. She had so much patience and respect for my feelings.
