Briefly tell about your family history:
My name is Mary Kathryn Eckman Haugen I was born in Cumberland, MD.
I was the 1st of 4 children born to Francis J. Eckman & Clarissa Lyons. I
was the 1st to go to college in my family, and the 3rd nurse in my family. I
graduated from The Shadyside Hospital school of Nursing. I obtained my
BSN Degree/certificate at the medical college of Georgia and my MSN at
the University of Maryland. I married Lawrence A. Haugen; we have 3
children: Alison 32; Fulltime mother, Erik 28; Student, and Paul 27; Music
pastor. I worked at Clovis West High school as a school nurse from 19882008, 20 years.

I spent 23 ½ years in the U.S Army Nurse Corp in various positions of
increasing. I retired in 1987 as a Ltc.
