Briefly tell about your family history:
My name is Terri Garrelts I was born in Fresno, CA. I was the only child
born to Ed & Jo Shipman. I was the 2nd to go to college in my family, and
the 2nd nurse in my family. I graduated from FSC/CSUF in 1963. I married
Bob Garrelt, we have 3 children Kristy age 39; aqua aerobics instructor, Jon
38; psychiatrist and Rob 42; trucker. I worked at FUSD as a school nurse
from 1972-2003, 32 years.
List any student nurse experiences you may remember and any faculty:
I worked mostly in special education as a procedure nurse for the physically
handicapped student from age 3-21
Worked for 3 years after graduation as a pediatric nurse at Fresno Co
Hospital- took 6 years off to have 3 children before returning to work,
Retired in 2003 and moved to Eureka to be close to my daughter- My oldest
son has two children 19 & 15 they live in Fresno. Our youngest son lives in
San Diego and works at scripts as a Reg. Physical therapist.
