Call for Applications MSc by Research Full-time MSc on Teleoperated Robot Control and Simulation for CERN Department of Systems and Control Engineering Faculty of Engineering A full-time MSc by Research position is available within the Department of Systems and Control Engineering (SCE) in the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The project requires the development of an accurate reproduction and simulation environment of the TeleMAX and tEODor telerobots used at CERN for remote maintenance operations in contaminated environments. The project will be supervised by SCE academics with co-supervision by CERN staff. The post requires a 6-month full-time residence at CERN. Grants will be provided to cover travel and living expenses at CERN. Applicants must be in possession of, or expect to obtain, at least a Second Class Honours degree ideally in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or any other related area. Ideal candidates must have a strong background in control systems and robotics; familiarity with CAD software; proficiency in programming, including C++ and MATLAB/Simulink; and an aptitude for mathematics.
