One of the objectives has always been to involve the students, lecturers and staff and to offer a venue to whoever felt they had a talent, whether it was artistic or organisational. Students’ ideas were always accepted with enthusiasm and made possible through funding by the University of Malta with the Koperattiva’s resources, expertise and contacts. for more info: eveningsoncampus@um.edu.mt The activities, which will commence on the 4th August and finish on the 30th August, will be held in Valletta, at the Old University Courtyard and all start at 20:30. The form and the message (or lack of it) account for the success and cult status of many of these films. Multi-story plots allow the director to be both literary and ferociously real. Some films, such as Pulp Fiction, do not even pretend to be serious. Its absurdity and pop culture references are a constant reminder that what you are watching is not real. This allows the director to deal with issues such as racism and homophobia in a way that in other circumstances would not be tolerated. 18 Monday 04 August 18 Monday 11 August 18 Monday 18 August 18 Monday 25 August 30TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING 20:30 Midnight Express Old University Courtyard St Paul’s Street, Valletta Evening with Douglas Dunn €8 18 Thursday 07 August Professor Douglas Dunn was born in 1942 in Scotland.
