The Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) and the San Joaquin Valley Mathematics Project (SJVMP) are pleased to sponsor a WORKSHOP to prepare you for the CSET MATHEMATICS SUBTEST I __________________________ Individuals seeking a teaching credential can show subject matter knowledge by passing the appropriate subject matter assessments of the California Teacher Commissionapproved California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET). This workshop on algebra and number theory will target the January 10 CSET test date by covering the subject matter needed to pass the first CSET exam for mathematics teaching (CSET Mathematics Subtest I--for more information on topics covered on this test, see http://www.cset.nesinc.com/CS_testguide_Mathopener.asp). If you pass CSET Math Subtests I and II, you are eligible for a Foundational-Level Math (FLM) Credential if you already have a Single Subject Credential. If you have a Multiple Subject Credential, you can apply for the FLM credential once you pass a Single Subject methods course (CI 161 at Fresno State). The FLM credential allows you to teach Algebra and Geometry at any grade level.
