CalStateTEACH is a California State University online school-based, multiple subject credential program. Using the latest mobile learning technology, such as iPads, Apps, videos, and E-texts, CalStateTEACH delivers high-quality education to individuals across California. How Does It Work? Candidates work in online cohorts guided by CSU faculty. Faculty arrange approved local field placements and visit the classroom to observe teaching and offer feedback and support. Candidates and faculty communicate through the program’s course website and e-mail. A study guide presents activities that integrate course assignments with handson teaching. The spiraling curriculum is integrated and completely school-based, with no separate courses taken on campus. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required. (Some special admits below 2.67 GPA), TB test and certificate of clearance. Program Length & Hours Minimum three 15 week terms, Fall 2013. Approximately 25-30 hours per week of independent study time and field placement each term are required. A Saturday orientation is mandatory. Eligibility Candidates eligible for the intern option must be in a public school multiple subject classroom in which the core curriculum (language arts, social studies, math, and science) is taught to all students. Candidates in the student teaching option will be placed in appropriate multiple subject settings for field experience and student teaching. CSET If you are CSET qualified, you will be admitted officially into our program’s 15-week Term One. If you are not CSET qualified, you are enrolled in our prerequisite 30-week Split Term One. You will concurrently be enrolled in our prerequisite CSET preparation course providing you with the online support needed to successfully pass the CSET.
