I designed and am delivering Leadership Development Programs to one of Washington DC’s largest, and most influential, environmental NGOs and to Chiefs of Staff and Legislative Directors in the House of Representatives. These programs include bi-­‐monthly two to six hour programs on a variety of leadership topics including: emotional intelligence, coaching your staff, performance management, understanding your leadership style, decision-­‐making, innovation and entrepreneurship, effective storytelling, managing stress, conflict communications, delegation, strategic planning, managing an inter-­‐
generational workforce, and others . I facilitate 10-­‐15 strategic planning and team development retreats annually for congressional offices (House and Senate). I also founded Working MAMA (www.workingmamagroup.com), a group coaching program for professional moms. 2006-­‐2009 Director of Consulting and Training, Congressional Management Foundation, Washington, DC. (www.cmfweb.org) The Congressional Management Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting a more effective Congress. As Director of Consulting and Training, I faciltated 30+ retreats annually, grew the consulting practice by 300%, designed and delivered management training programs for Legislative Directors and Chiefs of Staff in the House of Representatives, performed office assessments for Members of Congress, ran the orientation programs for freshman Chiefs of Staff, and wrote a monthly management column for Roll Call entitled, Chief Counsel. 2002-­‐2006 Director/Associate Director, Executive Education, Corporate Leadership Council, Corporate Executive Board, Washington, DC (www.clc.executiveboard.com) The Corporate Leadership Council is a membership of senior executives with a shared commitment to steward enterprise-­‐wide human resources management. This membership offers a set of unique services and tools designed to assist human resources leaders with their most pressing managerial, communications, and decision-­‐making challenges. As Associate Director and Director of Executive Education, I was responsible for teaching best practices research in the area of Human Resource Management. Over the course of three years, I presented to hundreds of companies in organizations throughout the North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Some of these clients were the EPA, IRS, Caterpillar, Philips Electronics, IBM, PepsiCo, Petronas, Canada Post, Sun Microsystems, Telmex, Toyota, Telefónica, and the University of Michigan. 2004 Private Sector Development , The Futures Group, Washington, DC The Futures Group is a global healthcare policy and consulting firm. I served as practice leader for Management Capacity Building and wrote strategic plan. I built organizational capacity of Bangladeshi social marketing organization and provided consulting services including executive coaching, strategic planning, corporate governance, and organizational development. I managed $3 million USAID-­‐funded HIV/AIDS prevention program in Brazil. Led consultants in project start-­‐up and implementation of programs targeting Brazil’s most vulnerable populations. 2001-­‐2002 Manager, Corporate Marketing and Corporate Development, Riverstone Networks, Santa Clara, CA 2 Meredith Persily Lamel Riverstone Networks was a manufacturer of routers for metropolitan area networks. In this role, I planned, launched, implemented, and managed corporate marketing programs and media strategy in Asia markets, which generated roughly $25 million in quarterly revenue (40% of total corporate revenue). 1994-­‐1999 Analyst, Senior Analyst, Research Director (Latin America), Deputy Director of Research, Pyramid Research, São Paulo, Brazil/Cambridge, MA (www.pyr.com) During the late 90s, Pyramid Research was the telecommunications market research division of The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Since then, the EIU sold the company to private investors. I worked as a South America market analyst for three years, based in São Paulo, Brazil. As an analyst, I researched privatization/liberalization, market structures, carrier and supplier competitive strategies, and technology trends. I authored Telecom Markets in Brazil (1996), presented a paper at the 1996 ITU Americas Telecom conference and published articles in Latin Finance. As Deputy Director of Research, I managed Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe departments, including 10 analysts.
