How important was the Battle of Bannockburn in helping Scotland achieve its
overall victory?




First of all think about what the Battle achieved.
What does the slide say about the post-Battle situation?
Compare this to the other events described in the PowerPoint.
Jot down your findings in a paragraph.
Now consider this:
 Some historians have argued that Bannockburn, while being an important
battle, had little to do with the Bruce achieving his ultimate victory in the
wars.
 Do you agree with these historians? Give some reasons for your answer.

Activity 3
Look at the final slide.
 Do you believe that through the Treaty of Edinburgh Robert Bruce
achieved everything he hoped to achieve when he rebelled in 1306? Give
several reasons for your answer.
 Once you have made your decision you should prepare to share your
findings with others. Create a presentation to share with your friends your
opinions about the Treaty of Edinburgh, and whether or not you believe
Bruce was a successful king. Use images and information from this
website to make your presentation interesting and informative.
