Changes to APM 510
APM 510, POLICY ON MAKING AND RESPONDING TO ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH
MISCONDUCT FOR RESEARCH FUNDED BY PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE (PHS) OR
NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION (NSF), was sent to the President for approval by the Academic
Senate in March 2014. President Castro has approved the policy as amended.
The following is a summary of the substantive changes have been made to APM 510:







Change of Title from “Policy on Investigations of Scientific Misconduct.”
Change of scope to include research misconduct, PHS and NSF
Definition of research misconduct
Other related definitions
Changes to reporting responsibility
Redefined investigative process
Remove the names of individuals and replace with position titles
