East Boston‐Chelsea Bypass Project Overview
• Creates new exclusive commercial vehicle access/egress corridor for Logan Airport
• New limited access haul road connecting Logan Airport at Frankfort Street and Chelsea Street near the new Chelsea Street Bridge
• Eases congestion in and around Day Square by diverting airport traffic from local roads
• The Day Square area will experience a nearly 12% overall reduction of truck and bus traffic.
• Bypass to be planned, designed, constructed and operated by Massport
