Researcher develops
proposal and populates
the IRAS form
Researcher sends near final draft
for review to relevant RSS Officer,
and the content is finalised
Researcher books in with the NHS REC and is given a
reference to add to the IRAS form.
NB: The REC allows 4 working days from registration to
the submission of the application
Final version of the IRAS form is authorised
electronically* by the Chief Investigator, which is
then routed to Peter Hedges for sign off as Sponsor
Researcher then sends the hard copies to the
NHS REC and awaits a confirmation of validity,
and the REC meeting details
*Projects that fall under the governance of legislation such as Drug Trials and research involving the
collection; use of Human Tissue must have wet ink signatures.
