Student Planning Update (Jay/Margery) There is a new functionality in WebAdvisor for students and counselors: access to ed plans or planning. The Student Success Act mandated electronic access to ed plans for students. This will also provide a degree audit function and requirements of a major. There is a visual planning piece for all courses and sections which will show any overlap. Counselors are piloting this with 78 students this fall semester. It will open up to everyone spring semester. Students will attend educational planning workshops prior to seeing a counselor so that when they make their counseling appointment they will already have background information and the beginning of an ed plan. Counselors have a “review complete” button, however student are able to change their ed plan. The pros and cons of students being able to change their ed plans was discussed. Accreditation (Rachel) During the Accreditation visit (October 14-18), Dennis instructed everyone to prioritize any team member’s request for an appointment and to leave calendars open that week for impromptu appointment requests. At All College Day, Rachel will hand out a brochure to help demystify the Accreditation process and visit. Review your program plans and SLOs to refresh memories and be as prepared as possible. Know where they are located online. Know how your plans work into overall plans (“integrated planning”). CPC today will go over some questions that may be asked.
