Faculty, classified and confidential staff, students, administrators, and the Governing Board will collaborate in the design of governance processes that value the contributions of leadership throughout the organization and facilitate decisions that support student success and institutional effectiveness. b. Students will achieve their academic and personal goals with the support of strategically deployed human, physical, technological, and financial resources. c. Students will achieve their educational goals through programs and services that undergo an ongoing and systematic cycle of evaluation, integrated planning, implementation, and reevaluation to verify and improve the effectiveness by which the institutional mission is accomplished. Unit Description: The President’s Office is in charge of ensuring the overall health of the college: This includes fiscal stability, accreditation, instructional excellence, community support, student services success goals and all college operations that apply to quality education. The President’s Office ensures the mission of the college is being met through process and procedure and that the Board of Trustees is supported in its job to lead the college and represent the community. The AUO assessment also demonstrated the need for a revised AUO process to be consistent with new integrated planning process efforts. Assessment results also provided new office staff procedures and outcomes related to both the institution and the community which were demonstrated in revised board policies and procedures, a technology format for board documentation, increased links in documents to the PRO website a new community updates web-link on the front page of the Cabrillo website and a newly developed participatory governance handbook. The final AUO assessment relates to Page 2 of 4 board of trustee feedback which demonstrated the need for an updated trustee website and increased trustee professional development. Timeline for Implementation (Make a timeline for how you will implement the next steps outlined above) The President’s Office will be piloting the new AUO process and that is attached for the committee’s review. The assessment bore out one major need and that will be addressed within the goals noted in the new procedure All Goals have an implementation step as part of the timeline and will be included in the program plan request/prioritization process – in the accreditation recommendation midterm response process-an in other participatory governance committee processes for next year AUO Reflection (skip if first year): Please provide comments or discussion to describe relevant history or new directions for your unit: The President’s Component, (including Marketing and Research), is actively responding to the first three years of the strategic plan as part of the administrative unit goals. Although each sector will be developing separate goals, each is integrating goals within the strategic plan. Integrating unit goals into the larger strategic plan supports the college mission in instruction, internal and external community service and improvement, and student success/learning/achievement.
