Assessment Analysis
(Summarize the assessment results;
discuss what needs and issues were
revealed)
The AUO assessment indicated the unit should integrate goals
into the newly created strategic plan for leveraging resources
and needs. The AUO assessment also demonstrated the need
for a revised AUO process to be consistent with new integrated
planning process efforts. Assessment results also provided new
office staff procedures and outcomes related to both the
institution and the community which were demonstrated in
revised board policies and procedures, a technology format for
board documentation, increased links in documents to the PRO
website a new community updates web-link on the front page
of the Cabrillo website and a newly developed participatory
governance handbook. The final AUO assessment relates to

Next Steps
(How will you address the needs and
issues revealed by the assessment?)
Timeline for Implementation
(Make a timeline for how you will
implement the next steps outlined
above)
The President’s Office will be piloting the new AUO process and
that is attached for the committee’s review. The assessment
bore out one major need and that will be addressed within the
goals noted in the new procedure
All Goals have an implementation step as part of the timeline
and will be included in the program plan request/prioritization
process – in the accreditation recommendation midterm
response process-an in other participatory governance
committee processes for next year
AUO Reflection (skip if first year):
Please provide comments or discussion to describe relevant history or new directions for your unit:
The President’s Component, (including Marketing and Research), is actively responding to the first three
years of the strategic plan as part of the administrative unit goals. Although each sector will be
developing separate goals, each is integrating goals within the strategic plan. Integrating unit goals into
the larger strategic plan supports the college mission in instruction, internal and external community
service and improvement, and student success/learning/achievement.
