We hired one full-time tenure track instructor: Dr. Steve
Schessler; we have maintained our level of staffing in the
Writing Center and ILC.
We have maintained our current level of participation with
learning communities (LC) throughout the campus, along with
continuing with themed based courses; we participated in a
new LC with medical assisting; acceleration for 255 students is
now available for all students as recommended by instructors
and through the portfolio assessment process.
During FLEX we conducted training on how to use department
rubrics and SLO analysis; we have developed a 3 hour training
session on how to implement acceleration in 255; all new
adjuncts were assigned a fellow instructor as part of our TIPS
program that promotes collaboration and mentorship.
We have approved and are in the process of establishing the
AAT degree; we rotate faculty who work in the Honors
program; we have reviewed English 1C and are aware that it is
no longer required by UC Berkeley.
