Website listing course descriptions for the composition sequence is up and ongoing; Writing Awards have been edited and revised to better promote and acknowledge student achievement; we have begun developing a 1A research essay rubric aligned with 255 and 100 portfolio rubrics; development of extra-curricular activities to support students continues through our collaboration with Poetry Santa Cruz and the development of Cabrillo Reads. We hired one full-time tenure track instructor: Dr. Steve Schessler; we have maintained our level of staffing in the Writing Center and ILC. We have maintained our current level of participation with learning communities (LC) throughout the campus, along with continuing with themed based courses; we participated in a new LC with medical assisting; acceleration for 255 students is now available for all students as recommended by instructors and through the portfolio assessment process. During FLEX we conducted training on how to use department rubrics and SLO analysis; we have developed a 3 hour training session on how to implement acceleration in 255; all new adjuncts were assigned a fellow instructor as part of our TIPS program that promotes collaboration and mentorship. We have approved and are in the process of establishing the AAT degree; we rotate faculty who work in the Honors program; we have reviewed English 1C and are aware that it is no longer required by UC Berkeley.
