Your club can hire a student driver for district vehicle use. The club adviser MUST be present in all club activities which is strictly reinforce for conferences and field trips. Currently we have only one student driver which is Lenny Cruz. Lenny can be hired to drive a van for your club’s activity upon request and approval. If you will like to hire Lenny please first contact him lennyw5@gmail.com for this availability and commitment. If Lenny is available the student activities coordinator (me) must approve his hours before your club officially hires him. Your club must pay $9.25 per hour. The activity must be a college sponsored event which requires you to complete the Event Request Form that must be approved by the student activity coordinator for your activity to be a college sponsor event. All student drivers must be hired by the student activities coordinator and must be paid with the club’s fund at a rate of 9.25 per hour. We will only hire upon request of the club’s adviser, and need. The identify student must provide a recent copy of their driving record to be considered for the position. Their driving record must be excellent. Once the student becomes a student employee they must complete the Driving Paperwork. The process will take approximately 3 weeks. That includes a Megan's Law check and the DMV check that is done by Cabrillo’s Transportation Office (FPPO) or HR. All students that are hired to drive district vehicles will be placed on a driving list pull. The list will be available for all club’s to hired for future events or needs.
