Personal Finance Mr. Barton 2013-2014 This coarse will help students develop sound money management skills and gain knowledge about the financial planning process.. Students will begin to develop the positive behaviors that are necessary to attaining financial maturity and achieving a secure future. The curriculum is designed around, but not limited to the following sets of target competencies, learning objectives and performance standards: Financial Planning Keeping you Money Safe Insurance Investing Using Credit Wisely Budgeting Careers Choice Good/Bad Debt Students will use the NEFE High School Financial Planning Program along with Financial Literacy for Teens by Chad Foster. Students will participate in interactive projects, assignments, and assessments as a means to apply what they have learned and a measure of their knowledge. CLASSROOM GUIDELINES Responsible Respectful Reliable - Please bring all materials to class daily and prepared to work. Respect yourself, classmates and faculty, and the environment you preoccupy. Be punctual (on time) and prepared with all materials needed for each daily assignment.
