Introduction to Study Abroad: Roskilde, Denmark Scandinavia-Land of the Vikings: Culture, History, and Observations Seven week hybrid course with a one week in Country visit during Spring Break – March 19– 26, 2016 This seven week hybrid course includes online asynchronous sessions, live - in person class sessions and a one week in country visit to Denmark. Denmark is the home of the Vikings, the Little Mermaid, and Legos---not to mention world class architecture, art, and film. Students will tour Copenhagen and stay in Roskilde. Students will live in a hotel, and interact with Danish students while observing classes at Roskilde Business College. This course offers students an introduction to the culture and history of one of the most unique countries in Europe. enmark is a country with a unique culture and a D history that reaches back beyond the Vikings. Danish Greetings on Youtube Transportation Students will fly from Newark, New York, or Philadelphia to Copenhagen, Denmark. Students will travel with faculty and other students from the college. Accommodation Students will stay near the Roskilde Business College in hotel accommodations. Meals Breakfasts for the entire time while in Roskilde are included as are most lunches and dinners. Students are expected to pay for food on travel days. Faculty Julie Houston is an author and Professor of English at NCC. She has published numerous short stories, poetry, and articles and teaches creative writing and contemporary literature. Julie has traveled extensively and has helped build our exchange program with Denmark. She loves traveling and sharing the Scandanavian culture with NCC students.
