The Marshall Office of Undergraduate Advising is currently looking for self-motivated students to join our team as interns. Ideal candidates must have a positive attitude, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to work effectively in teams. Interns will have the opportunity to develop and expand their knowledge and skills in customer service and project management using a hands-on approach. The intern position will provide preprofessional experience where students receive exposure to the field of higher education and student affairs within a dynamic office setting. Student interns will have the opportunity to manage meaningful assignments and will receive mentorship through goal setting and evaluations. Students who are looking for a work-study position that will result in their learning strong interpersonal, multi-tasking, and planning skills are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Work-Study eligibility required
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
High level of professionalism and customer service skills
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Detail-oriented
Ability to multi-task and manage projects
Motivated to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desire to learn and grow as a professional
Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus
Responsibilities
Serve as front desk support in day-to-day operations of the Marshall Office of
Undergraduate Advising; answer phone calls, manage appointments
Relay information to the USC Community regarding registration policies, office policies
and procedures, and Business Administration curriculum
Assist Marshall advisors with tracking, events, and marketing materials
Provide support to our signature programs including Marshall Connections Program,
GLP, BCA, Commencement, and the Marshall Peer Tutoring Program
Use Student Information Systems to process forms
Please note that internships within our office are intended to continue throughout your time here at USC. If hired, the position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical work experience for an extended period of time in a real-world work environment where you will professionally grow and build your skill set from year to year. The position is meant to roll-over each academic year, pending a good evaluation at the end of each spring semester.
