Marshall School of Business Admission Requirements for Continuing USC Students The Marshall Office of Undergraduate Advising is available to assist students interested in Marshall majors or minors with questions about program requirements and the application process. Interested students are strongly encouraged to attend one of the Marshall Information Sessions listed on our website or to schedule an advising appointment well ahead of registration or other important dates. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MAJOR REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION WRIT 150 (or WRIT 140 or WRIT130) MATH 118 or higher ECON 351x (or ECON 251x). Please note: Math 118 is a prerequisite for ECON 351x; ECON 351x must be taken in residence at USC. Students who wish to apply directly to the Accounting major must complete BUAD 285ab or 286ab (or BUAD 305 if eligible) with a grade of “B” or better, in addition to completing the courses above. The Leventhal School of Accounting Student Services Office (ACC 101, 213-740-4838) is available to assist interested students with program and enrollment questions. Admission to Marshall School of Business majors is competitive. Admission decisions are based primarily on students’ academic performance at USC and the required coursework listed above. In order to be competitive, students are advised to complete 16 units of academically rigorous coursework in each term of enrollment; all courses should be taken for a letter grade. MINORS IN THE MARSHALL SCHOOL OF BUSINESS The Marshall School of Business offers a variety of minor programs designed for non-business administration majors. Each minor provides a foundation in business concepts and practice, and a Marshall minor can complement any USC major. All courses are taught by Marshall faculty members, and students in Marshall minor programs enjoy many of the same co-curricular opportunities provided to Marshall majors. The following Marshall minors are available to students: Accounting, Business, Business Law, Business Technology Fusion, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Management Consulting, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Organizational Leadership and Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Business Economics, Business Finance, and Technology Commercialization. APPLICATION TIMELINE Applications for admission to the Spring term are available in September, and applications for admission to the Fall term are available in February. Students are notified via USC email of admissions decisions prior to the start of the Fall or Spring semesters.
