Tutor-marked Assignment B
This is your second Assignment which as before you will send to your Tutor to be
marked and commented on; he or she will send you your marked script and a Key
which should help clarify any difficulties.
Before you start this Assignment, the last in Module One, please check over thoroughly
all the Activities in this Lesson which are intended to sum up what you have covered so
far. If you still have any problems you would like to discuss, do contact your Tutor who
will put you right.
You will doubtless have found some of the Activities in this Lesson, and in this Module
generally, quite difficult. This is very understandable, and is no reflection on you; all
languages are difficult, and English extremely difficult. It has very few consistent rules of
grammar, its spelling is a nightmare, and the only way to learn it is through memory and
practice.
Try not to look anything up once you have started the Assignment, and do it in test
conditions. This though difficult will be good for you, and indicate what you have leamed
- and not learned. Don’t worry about any problems, there are bound to be some, and
you will almost certainly in the end do better than you expect. In the end your Tutor will
put you right! This is not a timed test, but you should try to do it in one sitting and not
take too long over it. It would be helpful for your Tutor if you indicated at the bottom how
long you took over this Assignment. The total marks are 100, and the number of marks
per question is indicated in the margin. The best of luck!
