Abstract
Collection, 1870-1996; 2005, compiled by Reverend Herman Page on the
history of Michigan's Copper Country with a particular focus on Copper
Country railroads. This collection covers most of the railroads of the
Copper Country including the Duluth, South Shore, and Atlantic Railway,
the Mineral Range Railroad, and the Hancock and Calumet Railroad as
well as information on various mining companies and locations in the
Copper Country. Includes glass plate negatives, photographs, clippings,
correspondence, maps, diagrams, postcards and memorabilia.

Biography
Reverend Herman Page was an Episcopal priest in Michigan's Copper Country and a railroad enthusiast.
Reverend Page grew up in the Marquette, Michigan area where his father was also an Episcopal priest.
Reverend Page served as the rector for the Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton in the early 1980's.
Page is now retired in Topeka, Kansas, but is still active with the Soo Line Historical and Technological
Society.
Collection Scope and Content Summary
This collection covers most of the railroads of the Copper Country including the Duluth, South Shore,
and Atlantic Railway, the Mineral Range Railroad, and the Hancock and Calumet Railroad as well as
information on various mining companies and locations in the Copper Country. Includes glass plate
negatives, photographs, clippings, correspondence, maps, diagrams, postcards and memorabilia.
Arrangement
MS-082 has been arranged into two series with subseries in series one as follows: This series includes
color and black-and-white slides of Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic, Soo Line, Wisconsin Central
Copper Range Railroad, Keweenaw Central Tourist, Lake Superior and Ishpeming, Marquette and Huron
Mountain, Escanaba and Lake Superior, Manistique and Lake Superior, Calumet and Hecla railroads,
as well as slides of Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin Depots. Series I, Slides Subseries 1.1,
