VIMS: Near-IR torus observations (11 cyclics), observations of
Europa's trailing hemisphere.
Activity Description: turn from waypoint to Io; perform Io and torus observations for 12 hours;

Number Of Iterations:
VIMS: 10 cyclic observations (1 hr. each) on Io
10 cyclic observations (3.3 min. each) on Europa
ISS: 7 plume searches (5 min. each) on Io
Interval Between Iterations:
Target : (for example: Titan)
Pointing: (feature or position on target, slit orientation, module used…)
Turn from Jupiter waypoint (slits parallel to equator) to place Io at center of UVIS lowresolution slit with slits perpendicular to equator;
Initiate IVP on Io;
Turn to place Europa at center of VIMS slit
Initiate IVP on Europa;
Return to Jupiter waypoint.
Estimated Data Volume: (in Mbits)
CIRS: 14.4 Mb/hr for 9.3 hrs = 133.9 Mb
UVIS: 4.25 Mb/hr for 9.3 hrs = 39.5 Mb
ISS: 2 plume observations = 131 Mb
7 plume searches
= 70 Mb
VIMS: 14.2 Mb/hr for 10 hrs = 142 Mb
3.7 kbps for 30 min = 6.7 Mb
Instrument Set Up: (use ODC’s from ODH or suggest alternative setup)

Observation Name – Science is working on an observation naming convention. It’s not
quite ready yet. So use a name that makes sense for the observation. We will switch to
science-approved names later on.
Activity Start Time – The time at which the activity should begin. If not known, provide a
time window.
Activity Duration – The duration of one instance of the activity.
Number of Iterations – The number of instances of the activity.
Interval Between Iterations – The time between the start of one iteration of the activity.
Pointing – The simplified general pointing profile for the activity. Indicate the module
(GENMOS_AB for example) that should be used to implement the pointing. In addition,
when possible, attach CASPER screen dumps and/or CASPER RWF files.
