Request for Proposals: LCRC Bridge Grants
Updated 3-24-14
When a grant submission or competitive renewal is not funded, and detailed comments have
been received by the PI, LCRC Bridge funds may be provided so that the investigator’s work can
continue in preparation of a successful resubmission. Bridge grants will be evaluated on an
individual basis by the LCRC Scientific Executive Committee and the Xavier LCRC Internal
Advisory Board. The upper limit of Bridge Funding shall be $50,000 (direct costs only) for one
year, typically over the period July 1 through June 30. Additional funding is dependent on the
results of the resubmission and availability of funds. NOTE: Special priority shall be given to
requests that are “matched” by University or Department funds. Faculty are encouraged to
submit a proposal as soon as they identify a need for future funding.
The deadline for Letters of Intent is March 1 and the deadline for Bridge Proposals is April
15. Letters indicating the award status of the proposal will be sent to the PI no later than May 31
with copies to PIs chair, dean and the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
