Request for Proposals: LCRC Seed Grants
Updated 3-24-14
Funds are available from the Xavier LCRC program to help full-time Xavier faculty collect
preliminary data to develop new research projects related to cancer. The goal of the LCRC
Seed Grant is to focus on research activities that will yield preliminary data that can be
used to support a competitive funding proposal to an appropriate external funding source.
Priority for eligibility are junior or beginning faculty members who are in need of seed funds to
start their research careers at Xavier, followed by senior faculty who need support to transition
into a new research area. LCRC Seed Grants of up to $50,000 (direct costs only) will be
awarded on an annual basis for up to two years of support, typically over the period July 1
through June 30. NOTE: Special priority shall be given to requests that are “matched” by
University or Department funds. Faculty are encouraged to submit a proposal as soon as they
identify a need for future funding.
