Dear Student,
In an effort to keep you informed regarding updates and changes in Student Financial Aid, we will periodically send a
financial aid newsletter to all students. Please take the time to read the information below, as it includes several very
significant changes to your student financial aid for the upcoming academic year 2012-2013, as well as future years.
We will continue to send newsletters as important information becomes available.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
QUESTIONS OF THE MONTH
If I am awarded College Work Study; how
will I be noitified?
FERPA RELEASE FORM For
Financial Aid & Scholarships
(Family Educational Right and Privacy Act)
Any student that would like to share their
information with another individual must
complete the FERPA form as soon as possible.
The form enables the financial aid office to
release or discuss your student financial aid and
scholarship information only to individuals
you request. The form is available on the
financial aid web site.
SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress)
STAY ON TRACK WITH SAP!
If you have completed a request for college
work study, and funds are available, you will
be notified by your XULA e-mail.
What information must be submitted to
begin working?

Job assignments/placement (Office of
Financial Aid)

Complete all new hire paperwork in the
Human Resources department. (New work
study students only.)

Sign a Work Study contract, and pick up
computerized time sheets in the Financial Aid
Office.
When will I be paid?
Please review the SAP policy on the Financial Aid
Web page to view the requirements for eligibility
for Financial Aid.

All work study students are paid once a
month on the 15th of the following month
after you have worked.
Earned Work Study funds are deposited to
your personal account. (You must complete
a direct deposit form in the Human
Resources before this can be done.)
When are time sheets due?
Office Hours …..8:30am - 4:30pm
Time sheets are due on the 3rd of the
following month you have worked. If time
sheets are received on the 4th and beyond,
your funds will not be paid until the next pay
cycle.
Counseling Hours
Monday & Wednesday …...8:30am - 12:15pm
Tuesday & Thursday ….…12:30pm - 4:00pm
*Late Day Tuesday ………..12:30pm - 6:00pm
Late Day on Tuesdays Until October 30th
Spring Late Day will begin Jan. 8 - Mar. 26, 2013

NOTE: If the 3rd falls on a weekend or on a
holiday timesheets are due on the next
business day.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why is my Financial Aid not
posted?
• You must have a valid award.
• Your award is valid once you have
accepted or declined your offer.
• You must swipe your I.D. card in each
class you attend.
•You must be enrolled at least half time
(except for Pell).
• You must be full time for Health
Professional Loans and Loans for
Disadvantaged students.

WHEN: November 1, 2012
WHERE: University Center first
floor Gallery & Lobby
WHY: Complete Required Exit
Counseling (The Department of Education
requires all students who have received
loans to complete Exit Counseling).
TIME: 10AM – 2:00 PM
By completing This requirement you
Qualify for a drawing.
• You must complete the Entrance
Counseling online.
(www.studentloans.gov)
• Freshmen must have final high
school transcript.
REMINDER: An email was sent out on October 8th
reminding you to accept or decline your loans.
