Dear Student,
In an effort to keep you informed regarding updates and changes in Student Financial Aid, we will periodically send a
financial aid newsletter to all students. Please take the time to read the information below, as it includes several very
significant changes to your student financial aid for the upcoming academic year 2012-2013, as well as future years.
We will continue to send newsletters as important information becomes available.

FERPA RELEASE FORM For
Financial Aid & Scholarships
(Family Educational Right and Privacy Act)
YOU MAY RECEIVE A REFUND IF YOUR
FINANCIAL AID IS MORE THAN WHAT
YOU OWE TO THE UNIVERSITY, AND THE
FOLLOWING OCCUR:
Any student that would like to share their
information with another individual must
complete the FERPA form as soon as possible.
The form enables the financial aid office to
release or discuss your student financial aid and
scholarship information only to individuals
you request. The form is available on the
financial aid web site.

AN ACCEPTED AWARD LETTER MUST
BE SUBMITTED (BANNER WEB)

WE MUST VERIFY YOUR ENROLLMENT.
1. MUST BE ENROLLED AT LEAST
HALF TIME ( EXCEPT FOR PELL).
2. FEDERAL LOANS (DIRECT SUB,
UNSUB, GRAD PLUS LOANS) 6 OR
MORE HOURS.
SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress)
DON’T GET ZAPPED BY SAP!
3. MUST BE ENROLLED FULL TIME
FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
LOANS & LOANS FOR
DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why is my Financial Aid not
posted?
• You must have a valid award.
ESTIMATED AWARDS
• Your award is valid once you have
accepted or declined your offer.
If you received an estimated award at
Registration the deadline to provide
requested information is Friday,
September 28, 2012.
• You must swipe your I.D. card in each
class you attend.
*If required documentation is not received
by the above date, the Fiscal Office will be
notified and the estimated award will be
voided. You will be responsible for all of
your balance.
•You must be enrolled at least half time
(except for Pell).
• You must be full time for Health
Professional Loans and Loans for
Disadvantaged students.
• You must complete the Entrance
Counseling online.

• Freshmen must have final high
school transcript.
2. Why was I not awarded College
Work Study?
• Work Study funds are limited and
awarded on a first come first serve
basis.
• You may complete a Work Study
request form in the Office of Student
Financial Aid Office.
NOTE: Awards are made based upon
the availability of funds.
If you are a December 2012 graduate you must complete an
Exit Interview. Complete your Exit Interview at
www.NSLDS.ed.gov by November 3, 2012 or you may not
receive your diploma.
If you have any questions regarding your financial aid
eligibility, please contact your Financial Aid Counselor.
