Please take the time to read the information below, as it includes several very significant changes to your student financial aid for the upcoming academic year 2012-2013, as well as future years. We will continue to send newsletters as important information becomes available. FROM FINANCIAL AID DIRECTOR’S DESK SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) DON’T GET ZAPPED WITH SAP! Please review the SAP policy on the Financial Aid Web page to view the requirements for eligibility for Financial Aid. (http://www.xula.edu/financial-aid/basics.php#satisfactory ) Dear XU Community: I extend greetings on behalf of the Office of Student Financial Aid. As the semester draws to an end and we look forward to the holidays and the start of a new semester, I wish to close with a few words and friendly reminders. Congratulations on Your Upcoming Graduation Just as the season and time have changed, I have seen how you, our students, are continuously enhancing your knowledge of financial aid and all of its benefits. You have met deadlines, received your financial aid and refunds in a timely manner. Our office encourages you to continue to use many of the financial aid tools that are available such as Banner web, Financial Aid web site and our newsletter. Please be reminded that one of our most important means of contact is through your XULA e-mail. One of the final steps towards receiving your degreee is the completion of the federally and institutionally required financial aid exit counseling. If you received a federal loan, you must complete an on line loan exit counseling at www.nslds.ed.gov . The website has information on your total indebtedness, deferments, forbearances and your specific lender. This information is vital to your successfully completing your federal loan repayment. We hope you do well on your finals. The key to achieving anything in life is to be prepared. As we move into the close of the fall semester we must remember to be thankful for the many blessing we have received. We will continue our commitment to our students as we look forward to another successful semester. If you have any questions regarding this exit procedure, I can be contacted by email @grachal@xula.edu or by phone on 504-520-5213. IF THIS EXIT COUNSELING IS NOT COMPLETED, YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE YOUR DIPLOMA AT GRADUATION!!!!!!! Sincerely, Emily London-Jones Director of Student Financial Aid Newsletter 5 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FINANCIAL AID’S COMMENT CORNER 1. If I drop a class will my Financial Aid be affected?
