Organisation Registration Form Warwick Volunteers is part of the University of Warwick. We aim to provide an effective link between the University and the wider local community by utilising the skills, energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers in a variety of community ventures. We aim to: Enable University of Warwick students and staff to volunteer in the local community. Provide a variety of quality volunteering opportunities with appropriate training and support. Promote a fair, safe, enjoyable and empowering experience for all. Points to bear in mind when working with students: Students are a valuable resource and with good reason; the biggest companies in the UK compete hard to employ the best students because of their initiative, enthusiasm and skills. Students are flexible, and can often fit volunteering around their studies. We seek to provide opportunities with differing levels of commitment. Many students wish to volunteer on a regular (e.g. weekly) basis, but many are not able to make this level of commitment. We recruit most of our volunteers at the start of the academic year in October, although it is still possible to recruit at other times. Students generally go home during vacation times (at Christmas, Easter and over the summer). This must be taken into account when considering the roles appropriate for a student volunteer. You should bear in mind that activity will drop off after April because of exams and summer holidays.
