 Compiled market data to identify how the UK’s creative industries are leading and lagging around the world. This
information will be used for a Nesta publication that will formulate policy recommendations for the UK government.

 Led the design of two national strategies for the Mexican Federal government and its National Innovation System. One
of these focused on technology transfer and the other on seed capital for innovative businesses.
 Managed projects funded by the development agencies of the US and UK government (USAID and FCO funds).
 Evaluated the design and performance of government programs and initiatives related to the economic and social
development of Mexico. Sectors included in these evaluations were: education, science and technology, small and
medium enterprise policy, social development, the national postal service, among others.
 Co-authored studies that analyse the social and economic position of Mexico in various subjects: intellectual property
rights, competitiveness, innovation, fiscal accountability, seed capital and technology transfer.

• Assessed and evaluated all projects, activities, and public policy initiatives that required the approval and participation
of the representative of Mexico as a member of the Board of Directors and its respective committees. This included
the scrutiny of over US$1.5 billion worth of private and public sector loans and grants for the region’s infrastructure,
tourism, health and financial sectors.
• Participated, along with the representatives, in the evaluation of the management and administration of the
institution. This effort ensured the compliance of the organization’s objectives and provided a forum for the
establishment of CABEI’s priorities and objectives for the economic development of the region.
