It will take riders from the present Downsview Station to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station at Highway 7. From there, pedestrians will have a variety of transit options all within walking distance! You can already see the station being built! The 12 km of new dedicated rapidway will be constructed in two areas: from west of Helen Street to Edgeley Boulevard just east of Highway 400, and from Centre Street to Yonge Street via the existing Viva route on Centre and Bathurst Streets. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2020. Pine Val Phase 2 of the rapidway continues ley Drive Located on Highway 7 West at Millway Avenue, this unique vivastation is designed to completely cover the rapidway and accommodate a longer and wider station platform. Customers and pedestrians will be able to make connections to Viva at street level and access the subway and B SmartREIT bus terminal through a convenient and fully-accessible underground pedestrian concourse. C Kee le S t Vaughan Metropolitan Centre­—Spadina Subway station will be a hub of activity! s Drive underway, as we build a 3.6 km rapidway from Interchange Way/Edgeley Boulevard to just east of Keele Street at Bowes Road, and three new vivastations. This phase of the rapidway will open for service by the end of 2016. Vaughan Metropolitan Centre [VMC] Station­—the new vivastation in the VMC development area—will connect the rapidway with the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension [TYSSE] and an interregional bus terminal. Opening of VMC Station will coincide with the opening of the TYSSE, in late 2017. A Wigwos Phase 1 of the vivaNext project is well * schedule subject to change * map not to scale vivastations boulevards landscaping new movements at intersections bike lanes All of the new vivastations will feature an enclosed, heated and LEDSteeles Avenue lit section and an arched glass canopy to shelter passengers. The vivastations at Creditstone and at Keele are nearing completion. The vivaNext rapidways are more than just a transit project. They also include urban design elements such as pedestrian-friendly boulevards, wider concrete sidewalks and planters. Once the rapidway is complete, Highway 7 West and Bathurst & Centre will have attractive, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, with extensive landscaping including newly planted shrubs, groundcover, ornamental grasses and perennial flowers. Important traffic and pedestrian changes are happening at major intersections—almost complete in Phase 1. Motorists are benefiting from new turning movements [dedicated left-turns and permitted U-turns] and pedestrians now have two-stage crossings, giving them the option to cross Highway 7 in two stages. These changes will also be made at signalized intersections in Phase 2. Bike lanes will be built as part of the vivaNext rapidway construction. They will be painted a high-contrast green in the areas around intersections and side streets, with specific bike lane markings to clearly identify them. Bathurst & Centre will have raised bike lanes, and there will be a bike and pedestrian path across the 400 bridge on Highway 7. LEFT TURN SIGNAL U-TURN PERMITTED
