Following discussion, the motion to approve was passed by the following roll call vote: Herrera-Thomas Y Jaffari Y Kramer Y Pyke Y Rhodes Y Sokolow Y Discussion: 1. Erik Kramer asked if there should be a spot of the form to put the high school course number and title to be inserted. Marla Gleave said that information would be on the curriculum alignment form, would be completed during the curriculum alignment meeting between the high school and the CR instructor acting as the liaison. 2. Erik Kramer asked if there should be a requirement that the dual enrollment form be updated on a regular basis, even if there are no changes. Marla Gleave said that the MOU has to updated every three years but a note could be added to question #3. 3. The term “faculty” refers to CR faculty and “instructor” is in reference to the high school teacher. 4. If a course is identified for dual enrollment, the division dean will be contact and will then disseminate the information to the whole discipline. One faculty member will then serve as the liaison with the high school. The liaison will submit the Dual Enrollment Curriculum Approval form that the Curriculum Committee to be acted on. The liaison will also attend the Curriculum Committee meeting to answer questions. There is a stipend for any faculty that act as the liaison. 5. The next step of the dual enrollment task force is for Marla to meet with all the deans and the faculty so they understand the dual enrollment process. 6. Barbara Jaffari asked how the evaluations would be conducted. Marla Gleave said the first evaluation would have to take place within the first 5 weeks of the course. 7. A request form must be submitted every time the high school wants a course taught. But not ever request form triggers an alignment meeting. If the request is denied, the high school asked they be informed why the course can’t be taught so that they can move forward and have another instructor MQ. 8. Erik Kramer asked if the term is the CR term or the high school term. Marla Gleave said they are working with Rianne Connor to work this out. 9. Gary Sokolow asked if the Chancellor’s Office has to approve this. Marla Gleave said that AB 288 requires approve from CR’s Board of Trustees and from the high school. The CCCCO is mainly concerned if the dual enrollment process will displace instructors, and how we deal with an open or closed campus. AB 288 is to ensure everyone is on the same page. 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6 4.7 4.8 4.9 4.10 4.11 4.12 4.13 4.14 4.15 4.16 4.17 4.18 4.19 4.20 4.21 4.22 4.23 4.24 4.25 4.26 4.27 4.28 4.29 4.30 4.31 Inactivation: BIOL-9 Plants and People - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-16 Birds of the North Coast - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-17 Trees, Shrubs, Wildflowers, and Ferns - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-19 Rare Plants: Species of Special Concerns - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-22 California Plant Identification - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-23 Lichens of Northern California - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-24 Intro to Marine and Anadromous Fishes - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-25 Marine and Coastal Field Biology - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-26 Intro to Marine Plankton - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-35 Field Studies in Biology - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-88A Experimental Course in in Biology - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99A Ecology of Selected Ecosystems - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99B Identification and Ecology of Grasses - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99C Ecology of the Pygmy Forest - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99D Identification of Northcoast Birds - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99E Intertidal Ecology - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99F Ecology of the Redwoods Forest - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-99G Marine Mammals of the North Coast - Karen Reiss Inactivation: BIOL-120P Marine Algae - Karen Reiss Inactivation: CHEM-40 Independent Study - Tony Sartori Inactivation: ENVSC-15 Intro to Energy - Dave Bazard Inactivation: ENVSC-22 Solar Heating Design - Dave Bazard Inactivation: ENVSC-40 Independent Study - Dave Bazard Inactivation: GEOG-40 Independent Study - Dave Bazard Inactivation: GEOL-1 Physical Geology (DE Hybrid delivery only) - Dave Bazard& Mark Renner Inactivation: GEOL-40 Independent Study - Dave Bazard Inactivation: OCEAN-40 Independent Study - Dave Bazard Inactivation: PE-37 Road Cycling for Fitness - Bob Brown Inactivation: PE-65 Intro to Physical Education - Bob Brown Inactivation: PHYS-40 Independent Study - Dave Bazard Gary Sokolow [M], Erik Kramer [2nd].
