Resolution 5-10-S
A resolution to suggest that a parking citation email system be created to better inform
students that they have received a parking citation.
Whereas: Middle Tennessee State University Parking and Transportation Services leaves only
an envelope on windshield of vehicles with parking citations;
Whereas: Some students may not be aware that they have received a parking citation because
the parking citation was not on their vehicle when they returned
Whereas: Students may not be aware of receiving numerous tickets at a time;
Whereas: Students records and assets on pipeline cannot be accessed when there is a charge on
their account;
Therefore, let it be resolved by the 72nd Congress of the Student Government Association
of Middle Tennessee State University that:
Section 1: Parking Services will work with the Business Office and Information Technology to
develop a system that will automatically send an e-mail to the students MTSU e-mail account
upon receiving a ticket or citation on campus;
Section 2: The email will contain the citation number, time and place of offense, and the amount
of the ticket.
Section 3: Request that, if possible, the system be sending e-mails by Fall 2010.
