Bill 8-09-F
A bill to amend the Senate Bylaws in regard to Student Government Sponsored
Travel
WHEREAS: Senators sponsored by the Student Government Association to attend a
conference on the SGA’s behalf should attend all sessions in order to bring back
knowledge to better our SGA and campus.
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 72ND CONGRESS OF THE
STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF MTSU THAT:
Section 1: Section 3 will be added to article XII.
Section 2: Section 3 shall read: Students who are sent to conferences or training
sessions on behalf of the Student Government should positively reflect MTSU and the
SGA’s values..
Section 3: Sub Section A shall read:
“Any student sponsored by the Student Government Association to attend a
conference on the SGA’s behalf shall attend at least 80% of the required
conference sessions unless approved by a chaperone”
Section 4: Sub Section B shall read:
“If a student fails to abide by this policy, they will be sent to Judicial Affairs upon
his or her return from the conference.”
Section 5: Section 3 entitled Student Regent Nomination of Article XII shall be changed
to Section 4.
Section 6: Upon approval from the senate, this bill will go into effect immediately.
