Members in attendance: Pamela Rogers, Derik Steyn, Aubree Walton, Mandy Husak, Renee Roach,
Susan Hall, Greg Herring, Hong Li, Lynda Robinson, Jeff Metzger
1. Approval of minutes from September 29, 2014, meeting. Robinson moved to accept minutes;
Hall seconded. The motion carried.
2. Program and course modifications
A. School of Education and Behavioral Sciences
I.
Department of Health and Physical Education
i. A course modification request was received for HPET 3343. Rogers moved
to recommend approval; Herring seconded. The motion carried.
B. School of Business
I.
Course Addition requests were received for ACCT 4033, FIN 4453, FIN 4553, MKTG
4553, MKTG 4613. At the meeting, the request to add ACCT 4033 was withdrawn.
Rogers, on behalf of School of Business, requested that the course addition request
for MKTG 4553 be modified so that the new course title reads Sport Marketing,
rather than Sports Marketing; the prerequisite be changed to MKTG 3413 OR HPET
3023; and paperwork should reflect that MKTG 3413 is a guided elective for the BBA
and the Sports & Exercise Science Program. Herring moved to recommend approval
of MKTG 4553, as modified, and FIN 4453, MKTG 4613; Robinson seconded. The
motion carried.
II.
A course modification request was received for BUS 4483. Steyn moved to
recommend approval; Herring seconded. The motion carried.
C. School of Liberal Arts
I.
Department of English and Foreign Languages
i. A program deletion request was received for BA in Romance Languages
Education. Steyn moved to recommend approval; Robinson seconded. The
motion carried.
II.
Department of History and Government
i. A program modification request was received for the BA Political Science,
requesting the addition of option in International Studies. A course
modification request was received for PS 3213. Steyn moved to table the
discussion and vote so that the School of Business could meet with History
and Government to discuss overlap between the modified PS 3213 and
existing coursework offering by the School of Business. Hall seconded and
the motion carried.
ii. A course addition request was received for PS 2013. Robinson moved to
recommend approval; Herring seconded. The motion carried.
D. School of Science and Technology
I.
Department of Biological Sciences
i. A program deletion request was received for BS Biology Education. Steyn
moved to recommend approval; Hall seconded. The motion carried.
II.
Department of Military Science
i. A program modification request was received, requesting changes in the
requirements for the minor. Robinson moved to recommend approval;
Herring seconded. The motion carried.
III.
Department of Computing and Technology
i. Program Modification requests were received for the BS Computer Science;
AAS Information Technology; BS Information Technology. Herring moved to
recommend approval; Hall seconded. The motion carried.
ii. Course deletion requests were received for CIS 4063 and CS 3203. Robinson
moved to recommend approval; Li seconded. The motion carried.
iii. A course addition request was received for IT 4013. Herring moved to
recommend approval; Steyn seconded. The motion carried.
iv. Course modification requests were received for CS 1313, CS 1513, CS 3183,
CS 4203, IT 1413, IT 2063, IT 2413, and MIS 3033. Steyn moved to
recommend approval; Herring seconded. The motion carried.
