Cameron University Mathematical Sciences Professor Ioannis K. Argyros, Ph.D., has authored a new
textbook entitled Computational Theory of Iterative Methods, which was recently published by Elsevier
Publishing Company in New York.
“The book contains new research related to numerical methods for solving equations,” Arygos said. “It is
designed to assist researchers, practitioners and students to efficiently utilize numerical methods for
approximating solutions of equations resulting from the study of real life problems arising in engineering,
mathematical programming, mathematical physics and mathematical economics.”
Several Cameron students gained working experience by producing the numerical results in some of the
exercises at the introductory chapters of the book.
Argyros has published another 14 books and more than 500 peer reviewed articles in computational
mathematics. He is currently on the editorial board of 14 mathematical journals and serves as a reviewer
for the Mathematical Reviews of the American Mathematical Society.
