For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, February 28, 2008 Cameron to host Preview Day for students and parents Cameron University will host its CU Saturday preview day for area high school juniors and seniors and their parents, beginning with breakfast and registration at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, in the Cameron Theatre on CU’s main campus in Lawton. “Choosing a college can be a tough decision for students and parents,” said Lance Janda, Ph.D., Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. “CU Saturday allows them an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the university’s numerous programs, majors and activities in order to assist them in the college decision making process.” The event will officially kick off with a welcome at 9:30 a.m. followed by remarks from President Cindy Ross about some of the exciting things happening at Cameron. Then, Cameron alumna Lindsay Hunt will share the variety of experiences and opportunities from her time as a Cameron student. Hunt graduated from Cameron University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. While at Cameron she was involved in Student Government Association, Society of Professional Journalists and the Broadcast Club in addition to her membership in the Lambda Pi Eta and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. Hunt gained broadcast experience by producing and co-anchoring “Top of the Hour” for Cameron’s TV station, CUTV. After graduation, Hunt began her broadcast career at KAUZ Channel 6 News in Wichita Falls, Texas and has since been promoted to her current position as co-anchor of the 5, 6, and 10:00 p.m. newscasts. Additionally, information about admission, scholarship assistance and federal financial aid will be offered by the CU Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Assistance. The program will include a browsing fair with booths and representatives from Cameron’s academic departments and student organizations and campus tours conducted by the CU Aggie Ambassadors.
