Johnson selected for VP position at Cameron Cameron University President Cindy Ross announced today that United States Army Colonel Albert Johnson, Jr. has been selected as Vice President for University Advancement. The Board of Regents for The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University approved Johnson’s appointment during its monthly meeting today in Ardmore. Johnson will assume his role as vice president effective December 3, 2007. “We are proud to welcome Col. Johnson back to Cameron University and excited about the wealth of expertise he brings to the University Advancement office,” Ross said. “His 28 years of leadership and management with the Army combined with his ties to the University and the Lawton-Fort Sill community make him a tremendous asset to Cameron.” Upon beginning work at Cameron, Johnson will have spent 28 years serving the United States Army, including assignments at Fort Sill. During nearly three decades with the U.S. Army, Johnson was promoted through a series of increasingly responsible management positions leading large-scale operations worldwide. His management responsibilities included budgeting and finance, operations, safety and technology. He also has experience in project coordination and human resources. -more- Johnson, ADD ONE Johnson, who has a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from Cameron University and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, has also been active in the Lawton-Fort Sill community, serving in leadership positions for Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and The Field Artillery Association. As Vice President for University Advancement, Johnson will provide leadership for three of Cameron’s key administrative units, including the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies (CETES), Cameron’s economic development initiative, Alumni Relations and the Office of Development, which provides leadership in raising private funds. “This is a great time to rejoin Cameron.
