For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, Sept. 26, 2006 Cameron to host Quitter’s Corner According to the American Lung Association, nearly 342,000 Americans die of lung disease each year. In an effort to cut down that number, Cameron University’s Southwest Area Health Education Center (SwAHEC) and the American Lung Association will provide a smoking cessation course called Quitter’s Corner. The six-week course begins October 11. The class will meet in the SwAHEC Will Rogers Room each Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. and/or 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. “This program is designed to help smokers quit,” said Joe Langley, D.Min., Director of SwAHEC. “In addition to the program, participants will also receive information on cessation products.” The course is open to all Cameron faculty, staff, students and the general public.
