CU art professor to be featured in juried shows
The artistic work of Cameron University professor Katherine Liontas-Warren will be featured in four juried
art shows across the United States in the days and weeks ahead.
National or regional juried competition selection requires submission of professional slides of the artwork.
The artwork, selected by a juror, is based on works that best represent originality of subject matter and
content while still addressing technical skill. The prestigious juror is either a curator of a museum or the
director of a gallery.
“Competitive shows have allowed my works to be displayed nationally and to be recognized as a
professional artist among my peers and colleagues,” Liontas-Warren said.
“Winter Creek” and “Winterblend II: Wichita Mountains” are currently featured in the fourth annual National
Juried Fine art Exhibit at the Erman B. White Gallery on the Butler County Community College campus in
El Dorado, Kan.
“Winter Creek II: Oklahoma” and “Gathered Memories” will be on display at the Springfield Art Museum in
Springfield, Mo., as part of the MOAK 4 State Regional Exhibition 2004, which runs Nov. 20 through Jan. 2.
The Oklahoma: Centerfold art show will feature “A Greek Journey” at the Leslie Powell Art Gallery in
November. This work will also be displayed on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of
Oklahoma in Chickasha in January.
