His work focuses principally on energy infrastructure. • Publicly disclosed advisory transaction experience includes: SemCAMS strategic alternatives process (ongoing); TransAlta Power, L.P. sale to Cheung Kong Infrastructure, TransCanada Power, L.P. strategic alternatives review and sale of LP control to EPCOR Utilities, Calpine Power Income Fund restructuring and sale advisory; ATCO Midstream strategic alternatives review and process and Pembina Pipeline acquisition of Western Facilities pipeline assets. • Recent capital markets transaction experience (where BMO Capital Markets played a sole or co-bookrunner role) includes: TransCanada Corporation three equity offerings between 2007 and 2008 totaling $4.15 billion, Canadian Western Bank $105 million innovative tier 1 capital offering and $200 million subordinated debt offering; Duke Energy Income Fund $108 million follow-on offering, $200 million Enbridge Income Fund IPO; $200 million ARC Energy Trust secondary offering; $700 million in followon offerings by EPCOR Power, L.P. His transaction experience also includes (where the firm acted as underwriters’ counsel) initial public offerings by Manalta Coal and Westshore Terminals, the then largest income fund IPO’s in Canadian history. • Mr. Engen’s educational background includes a BA (Arts & Science) from the University of Lethbridge and an LLB and an MBA from the University of Alberta.
