PREFACE
Student Profiles is published each semester to provide a common set of data to support planning and decision making throughout the University, and to provide
information for responding to various surveys and other inquiries. We welcome your comments, reactions, and suggestions as a means of improving future
editions.

The University enrolled 26,430 students in the fall semester.
Seventy-six (76) percent of all students enrolled were full-time.
Undergraduates represented 89% of total enrollment.
Ninety-three (93) percent of all students were residents of Tennessee.
Minority students represented 25% of the University's enrollment.
Women were a majority at the University, accounting for 54% of enrollment.
Enrollment of 7,885 adult learners (age 25 and older) constituted 30% of total enrollment.
Fifty-one (51) percent of enrolled students participated in at least one evening class.
The 5,881 students who took courses via alternative delivery methods generated a total of 28,678 credit hours through these courses.
The average age of our undergraduate students was 23.
Approximately forty-three (43) percent of full-time students receive a Federal Pell Grant.
