It has been proposed that 6 writing intensive courses be required for graduation. (1st Yr. Several questions were raised: 1. What is the criteria for the conversion to a writing intensive course? 2. If 25 is the “recommended” enrollment, not a policy, how can one cap the enrollment? Frances Shapiro-Skrobe announced that the American Democracy Project is attempting to encourage further student involvement in civic engagement, using either enhanced curriculum or CEC in courses. Shaziela Ishak, the SSHS member of CAAFYE, announced that discussions are being held to expand the advisement process from just course/curriculum/scheduling advisement. It has been suggested that civic engagement, participation in campus events and club involvement be added to the advisement process.
